Additional Information

This workshop will empower your team  with skills to build rapport, relationships, communicate and connect with customers, co-workers and team members.   All sessions will be tailored to meet your challenges, needs and concerns and can be tailored for leaders, teams, sales people, or general staff in the following categories:

  • For Better Rapport, Relationships and Communication
  • For Better Teamwork
  • For Better Leaders/Managers
  • For Better Sales Results

Good interpersonal skills and building positive connections with both colleagues and customers are the foundation for everything we do. In fact according to a study by Harvard and Stanford University only 15% of your success in your job in relation to getting cooperation, getting things done and building a positive environment will be due to your technical skills and 85% will depend on your communication, emotional intelligence, people skills and your ability to get along.

Creating enduring connections with others is a life-long endeavor. Good relationships are vital to our well-being and make a big difference in our effectiveness with customers, co-workers, family and friends. Arnold Sanow, co-author of “Get Along with Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere … 8 keys to creating enduring connections with customers, co-workers – even kids” will share tips tools and solutions to build instant rapport, relationships and connect with customers and co-workers.

No matter how well people get along, even a slight improvement in communication, every day interactions and understanding others can greatly enhance teamwork, productivity, customer relationships and contribute to a positive work environment.

Often this economy everyone is doing more with less --- And in this fast pace world, the “niceties” get lost and working relationships suffer. A cooperative spirit cultivates a culture that brings out the best in people and performance, keeping everyone, energized and productive. When we work well together, everything works better at work, and that carries into contacts with customers, co-workers, family and friends.

The Get Along Better with Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere … Build Rapport, Relationships and Connect  professional development program focuses on getting everyone inspired and motivated while providing relevant and real-life tools they can use to improve their communication, everyday interactions, relationships and emotional intelligence.

This session is not meant to say that work relationships or communication is poor, but that everyone can always improve. This session will be fun, interactive, thought provoking and motivational with real life tips, tools and solutions that can be used immediately.

Below is a sample outline focusing on team development/engagement/communication which will be adapted to best meet the outcomes you want, your budget and time restrictions. This program can also be adapted for leaders, managers, sales people, and general audiences.

  • Introduction - "So What" why are we doing  this and why is it relevant?
  • Body language/Tone/Words … How to make  yourself more approachable, likeable and trustworthy. This will focus on how to improve your body language, tone and words to make the best impression and enhance working relationships
  • How to eliminate the misunderstandings that derail relationships.
  • Best Practices of “Best Places to Work” – Benchmarks of the philosophies of      companies which are rated as top workplaces and why.
  • Moments of truth - How to make every interaction, transaction and meeting positive, memorable and special.
  • Communication crushers vs. Positive connections.
  • Appreciate to be Appreciated – This will focus on the power of appreciation and gratitude
  • Empathy vs. Sympathy – The difference between empathy and sympathy and techniques on how to increase your empathy IQ.
  • Blame – Blame has an inverse relationship to accountability
  • It’s not what is said, it’s what is not said
  • How to instantly boost your active listening and understanding skills
  • 5 elements of emotional intelligence – What it is, why it’s important and how to      use it.
  • Every person has a story – understand  others first. We  are wired to bias and making snap judgements. The importance of understanding others and not jumping to conclusions.
  • Understand your rule book - How are your should's, should not's  and ego getting in the way of building positive relationships and  connections.
  • How snap judgments, assumptions, stereotyping,  implicit and unconscious bias destroy connections
  • 3 keys to enduring relationships … emphasis on trust
  • E-Mail etiquette – We will look at best practices to make e-mail more efficient and      effective
  • How to say NO and talk to others in a  nice way.   Learn the USA method on how to say NO … and get a template for how to communicate with others in a clear, understandable and nice way
  • Understanding your communication style and those of your co-workers and customers. The point of this exercise is that to be  able to persuade, motivate, influence, improve cooperation and get along  with others, we must communicate in the ingredients that others find as  important and not just what we find as important. This goes over very well  and people start to see others in a different light.
  • What do I need or want to make my job more positive, joyful and productive? Exercise with partners to get input on how they are perceived by  others.
  • Learning about each other.  One of the most important ways to enhance communication and connection with each other and to build relationships is by learning more about each other. The more we learn about one's history, the more we can accept one another's habits,  orientations and concerns.
  • How do others see you?  Each team member will share two strengths or contributions they see each person in the group making.
  • Team guidelines and ground rules - The team looks at what are the behaviors, values and communication elements that they agree to live and work by. This is included if working with a specific team
  • Facilitation looking at strengths and weaknesses of the team.
  • Facilitation reviewing specific issues relevant to the team   - case studies relating to work. This is included if working with a specific team
  • Facilitation to review each person's commitments to make a change.
  • Specific actions to build the team. This is included if working with a  specific team
  • Everyone will share what they will do to improve and make commitments

The key to make a program like this successful is in the delivery skills of the speaker/facilitator/trainer. Arnold's programs  are thought provoking, interactive, engaging, information-packed, and full of "walk away" material that can be implemented immediately.

Participants will have the option to receive a free e-mail newsletter sent every 2 weeks that reminds and reinforces what we did at the session.

There is also an option to have 6 follow up “bite-sized” targeted teleseminars focusing on specific issues and copies of my “Get Along” book.
